Electromagnetic waves are transverse waves that have some electrical properties and
some magnetic properties. All electromagnetic waves travel at the same speed and do not
require a medium. Unlike sound waves they can travel through a vacuum. The speed of
electromagnetic waves in a vacuum is 300,000,000 m/s.
(At this speed, it takes the light from the sun 8 minutes and 20 seconds to reach Earth.)
Light waves and radio waves are both electromagnetic. Each has properties that make
them useful for some purposes and useless for others. What makes them different?
ALL ELECTROMAGNETIC WAVES HAS DIFFERENT WAVELENGTHS AND
FREQUENCIES.
