Temporal bone
○ At the side and base of the skull
머리뼈의 옆면 형성, 1쌍
○ 4 parts : squama, petrous, tympanic, mastoid portion
1. Squama : thin, translucent, squamous suture
temporal line, glenoid fossa
2. Petrous part :
pyramidal shape, middle & inner ear structures
superior & inferior petrosal sinus, jugular bulb
3. Tympanic part :
wedge between squama and mastoid, petrous
4. Mastoid part :
mastoid process, pneumatization
muscle attachment, prominent in male

관자뼈 (측두골, temporal bone)
① 청각기 수용, 외이공 존재
② 구분 :
비늘부분(인부) - 접형골, 두정골, 후두골 사이에 위치
하악와 : TMJ 형성,
바위부분(추체부) - 내이 존재
꼭지부분(유양부), 고막틀부분(고실부)
③ 광대활(관골궁) : 관골돌기+측두돌기 – 교근(깨물근) 부착
④ 턱관절오목(하악와) : 관절결절 뒤에 움푹 들어간 곳, 하악두 수
용, TMJ 형성
⑤ 붓돌기(경상돌기) :
외이공 바로 밑으로 뻗어 있는 돌기
경돌하악인대, 경돌설근, 경돌설골근, 경돌인두근 부착
⑥ 붓꼭지구멍(경유돌공) : 경상돌기 뒤에 있는 구멍, 안면신경 통과

Frontal bone
• Consists of the squama and the orbital plate
Squama (vertical plate) : entire forehead, intimate to the forebrain
Orbital plate : floor of the anterior cranial fossa
• Frontal eminence (frontal sinus)
Inner and outer plates diverge each other (4-6yr)
• Frontal process (spine)
Glabella : highest midline point
• Zygomatic process (strong buttress of bone)
at the junction of the vertical, orbital and temporal surface
provide legs for the support of the frontal bone
part of the stress pathway which carry the occlusal force

뒤통수뼈 (후두골, Occipital bone)
• Composed of the squama, lateral masses and basilar part
• Foramen magnum, condyloid canal
• Lateral to each condyle lies a heavy buttress of bone
: helps from the Jugular foramen
• Nuchal crest, superior and inferior nuchal line
• External occipital protuberance – like hawk’s beak
• Lambdoidal suture – lions the parietal bone
• Basion : midpoint of anterior border of foramen magnum
• Occipital condyle

• In a mammals. Zygomatic arch forms
flying buttress between the brain case and face
• Forms the lateral rim of the orbit
• Zygomatic arch
