Breezy – the developers of Like’
• ‘Like’ was developed by a group called Breezy in Israel on 2007
• The entrepreneur is Mr. Shimon Harpaz who saw the needs and
potential for a scraping candy to treat bad breath
• He joined Lenny Sackstein, founder of Carmit Ltd., who introduced
the concept of microcapsules for scraping, and Dr. Shlomo Barak,
leading Israeli dentist and maxillofacial surgeon, and together
founded Breezy
• Breezy operated in the Mofet B’Yehuda innovation Accelerator, a
member of the Trendlines Group
• Hillel Lerman, CEO, has been involved in managing numerous
startups and taking Breezy to commercialization
The Clinical Research
• A double blind randomized study of 75 patients with Halitosis
• The participants were treated with or without abrasive microcapsules
containing Zinc gluconate, Propolis, a combination of both (Zinc,
Propolis)
• The halitosis was assessed by Halimeter at 4 different points of
time
• The study was conducted by Dr. Shlomo Barak, Director, Institute of
Dentistry & Oral maxillofacial Surgery, Hillel Yaffe Medical Center
with the Rappoport Faculty of Medicine, the Technion and Prof.
Joseph Katz, Department of Oral Diagnostic Science , University of
Florida College of Dentistry
The results of the Clinical Research
• ‘Like’ candy was found effective in treatment of halitosis for up to 4
hours
• ‘Like’ showed reduction of 60% in bad breath compare to other
combination (see the graph)
• ‘Like’ with the abrasive form and Zinc additive had the best potential
to positively affect bad breath while treating patients suffering from
halitosis
• The combined effect of abrasion by microcapsules with Zinc
supplement represents a novel and successful approach for the
treatment of halitosis
• 96% of the study participants reported that they will buy the product

• A consumer research was conducted in Israel on September 2010 to
understand the scope of the consumer needs (Mutagim )
• 71% said they suffer from and kind of bad breath
• 74% of them feel irritated and uncomfortable during meeting other
people due to the bad breath they have
• 81% liked the idea of the ‘Like’ concept
• 87% said that they will buy ‘Like’ to try it
• Most of the participants will look for this product in the pharmacy/
drugstore
