skateboarding will always be his favourite toy!
SAM PERRY (Australia) – Beatboxing, Rapping & Live Looping Whiz-Kid!
Sam started his career like most people, in his bedroom. After a stint in a high school band and a
natural ear for music, Sam found himself wanting to be able to create the full band atmosphere,
without the full band. With a guitar effects pedal, a loop station and a microphone (and many many
hours locked away) Sam crafted the looping process into something completely innovative.
Creating beats, bass lines and harmonies using only his voice completely live and on the spot took
him, and soon the music industry by surprise, and needless to say, sparks began to fly. Bookings
came in from every direction leading to opening the 2010 “One Movement” festival and winning the
Path to Laneway competition.
It didn’t slow down as 2011 progressed with International support slots for the likes of Mickey
Avalon and Rahzel, and a nomination for “Favourite Newcomer” for the 2011 WAMI awards.
Now an accomplished loop artist, Sam has completed several national tours, including festival
performances at Parklife, Summadayze, and Laneway Festival to name a few, and performing and
recording with such other looping artists including Dub Fx and Adam Page.
All of this plus a string of headline shows, tens of thousands of youtube views, and sold-out album
launches – Sam Perry shows no signs of slowing down!
