used by ancient civilizations
• 5th Century B.C. – Hippocrates uses

• 1700s- Reverend Edmund Stone wrote
about a similar success
• 1829- Henri Leroux found that Salicin
is the active ingredient found in the
Willow Bark
CREATION OF ASPIRIN
• 1897- Dr. Felix Hoffman discovered the
chemical compound the created Aspirin
• 1899- A chemist working with Hoffman
at Bayer assisted with the research and
promoted the usefulness of the drugnamed it Aspirin
