Zeus - King of gods.
o He overthrew his father.
o He married his sister.
o He controls:
 Thunder
 Rain
 Law
 Order
 Fate
o His bird is the eagle.
o His weapons are the thunderbolt, scepter, and a bad temper.
Hera - Queen of heavens.
o She is Zeus’ wife and sister.
o She is the goddess of:
 Marriage
 Childbirth
 Empire
 Kings
o Her symbols are:
 Pomegranate
 The Lotus- Staff
o Her bird is the peacock.
Poseidon - god of the sea, horses, droughts, and floods.
o He is Zeus’ brother.
o His weapon is the trident.
o He rides horses and dolphins.
Hades - god of the underworld and death.
o He is Zeus’ other brother.
o He loves Persephone.
o His beast is Cerberus (a three headed dog).
Ares - god of war, violence, and civil order.
o His weapon is the bronze- tipped spear.
o His garb is golden armor.
o His beasts are the vulture and the venomous snake.
Apollo - god of music, sun, archery, and poetry.
o He is Zeus’ son, by his lover Leto.
o His weapon is the Bow and Arrow.
o His musical instrument is the lyre.





Aphrodite - goddess of love and beauty.
o Her symbols are:
 Apple
 Myrtle Wreath
 The Zcallop Shell
o Her bird is the dove.
Eros - god of wine and lustful desires.
o He is the son of Aphrodite and Ares.
o His garb (what he wears) is just wings.
o His weapons are:
 Bow and Arrow
 Kisses
Athena - virgin goddess of wisdom, warfare, and handicrafts.
o She sprang fully-formed from Zeus’ head wearing armor.
o Her weapons are:
 Spear
 Shield
o Her symbols are:
 Owl
 Olive tree
Hermes - the heavenly messenger.
o He is the god of travel and trade.
o He is the son of Zeus and Maia.
o His duty is leading dead souls to the realms of Hades.
o His garb is winged- sandals and a traveler’s cap.
Dionysus - god of celebration , drunkenness, and pleasure.
o His symbol is a cup full of wine.
