COURSE OBJECTIVES
• The course aims to introduce Operating systems
to students: role, goals, main components &
architectures. The students will become familiar
with well known existing operating systems:
theory, design, implementation, and analysis.
They will learn the fundamentals of concurrency
and process management, interprocess
communication and synchronization, job
scheduling algorithms, memory management,
input/output devices, file systems, and protection
and security in operating systems.
