I also chaperoned a group of students in a community service project to Mexico, January 2007 and to Costa Rica in January 2008. •Sept. 2000 – Aug. 2004 Graduate Student and Teaching Assistant, University of Rhode Island Advisor – Dr. Roger LeBrun While enrolled in Ph.D. program taught lab sections, I graded exams, and guest lectured. My research focused on the aquatic ecology of catch basins and effects of the juvenile growth hormone mimic methoprene on mosquitoes, nontarget organisms, and the catch basin ecosystem. I helped set up a new lab at the University of CT, participated in collection and analysis of zooplankton pigment samples from the Equatorial Pacific and conducted research on fecal pellet production by a coastal marine copepod and their contribution to carbon flux in Long Island Sound. •Mar. 1990 - Sept. 1990 Science Teacher, Waterford Country School, Quaker Hill, CT. Principal - Ted Phillips I taught science at a residential school for needy children between the ages of 5 and 21. Supervisors - Mark Blake and Victor Crecco I collected and analyzed zooplankton samples as part of a team of researchers trying to estimate potential lobster catches in Long Island Sound. Master Teacher - Cally Avery I shared primary responsibility for two tenth grade general biology classes and a ninth grade accelerated class.
