The Consulting Clinical Research Analyst performs technical, analytical, and support functions to meet program goals, contributes to strategic and tactical planning efforts, and serves as a company-wide resource on program evaluation and measurement. The Clinical Consulting Research Analyst leverages knowledge of applied research methods, data mining tools, analytic programming, and health care quality expertise. This role is responsible for providing timely, valid and reliable data, analysis, research, and recommendations regarding program effectiveness, including measurement and reporting of intervention outcomes. Key Qualifications and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in hospital administration, public health, economics, statistics, actuarial science, mathematics, business administration with 5+ years related work experience or equivalent combination of education and related work experience. Master’s degree with 3+ years related work experience. Master’s degree preferred. Keen analytical and problem solving skills. Progressively responsible work experience in leadership roles. Demonstrated success with project management. Proven ability to present complex analytic concepts to business stakeholders. Proven ability to document business requirements. Advanced oral and written communication skills. Advanced knowledge of program evaluation concepts and methodologies, with expertise in program effectiveness analysis, measurement and reporting. Knowledge of health plan operations, data sources, data structures. Knowledge of health plan cost containment strategies including medical management interventions, provider contracting methodologies, and benefit design alternatives. Knowledge of data mining tools and methods (SAS, OLAP) Knowledge of analytic programming tools and methods (SAS, SQL, OLAP, Business Objects, Crystal). Proven ability to design and develop reporting. Well developed business sense (finance, accounting, economics, risk management, public health economics, social service research or epidemiology). Proven ability to perform difficult analytical tasks with minimum supervision. Ability to drive strategic projects for the company, with a leadership presence that can cross divisions. Advanced knowledge of health plan cost containment strategies including medical management interventions, provider contracting methodologies, and benefit design alternatives. Advanced knowledge of provider payment structures, underwriting issues, marketing theory, financial accounting issues, and other mechanisms that highly impact the cost and revenue structures within the corporation. Knowledge of regulatory (both state and federal) agency policies and procedures. Ability to work independently on complex projects and issues with large financial and/or risk impact to the company.
