Welcome to AP World History, we are looking forward to meeting you in the fall. During the school year we will explore 10,000 years of human history, learn valuable skills, and take the AP World History Exam in May. This is an exciting class that will allow us to look at the big picture of history, trace cultures over time, and examine human interactions among other things. The purpose of this summer assignment is to get a jumpstart on the curriculum, and establish an understanding of world regions on a map. **The three assignments (the Chapter 1 Questions, Chapter 1 Terms, and the Mapping Exercise) will be due on the first day of school. A quiz on these topics will also take place during the first week. Your summer assignment consists of 3 parts:
1. Answer questions about the Chapter 1 textbook reading. 2. Define and identify the Significance of Chapter 1 Terms. 3. Label 3 world Maps according to regions, bodies of water and rivers, and mountains and deserts. The textbook can be picked up from the Logan bookroom by the end of June or during the AP Bootcamp sessions. Additionally, the textbook can be read online by going to http://portal.mypearson.com/mypearsonlogin.jsp User ID: sdcoats Password: 83apworld If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email Ms. Clark ([email protected]) or Mr. Isenberg ([email protected]).
