The trio’s musical universe is refined and creative with a constant
high level interplay. Thuelund´s inventive compositions are
intricate and appealing combining beautiful melodies, solid grooves
and refreshing new arrangements that serve as platform for exciting
soloing. The music demonstrates a strong focus on rhythm and
encompasses elements of modern jazz, world music and throughcomposed classical music; influences include: Mark Turner, Kurt
Rosenwinkel, Marc Mommaas, Hermeto Pasqual, Chris Potter and
Bela Bartok among others.

Magnus, Graig and Jonas are amongst the top young jazz musicians in northern
Europe.
-Magnus Thuelund a former New York resident is a talented young alto saxophonist
and composer. He is highly original in his writing and he is an intelligent, creative,
reflective and expressive player. He has studied with prominent musicians such as
Marc Mommaas, Reggie Workman, George Garzone, and Mark Turner. At the New
School of Music in New York and later as a soloist student in the highly esteemed
Advanced Post Degree Diploma programme at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in
Copenhagen. Thuelund has played in Carnegie Hall and all over Europe with own
bands and bigbands. He has played with Mark Turner, George Garzone, Jamire
Williams, Marc Mommaas, Nikolaj Hess, Django Bates and the Danish Radio Big Band.
-Graig Earle is an in demand and respected double bassist on both sides of the Atlantic.
In 2007, he was nominated for a Juno Award (Canadian Grammy) for best Jazz Album,
and won Danish Music Awards in both 2007 and 2008. He performs regularly in
Denmark with Thomas Fryland, Doug Raney, Sinne Eeg and Peter Rosendal among
others, and has toured Canada, USA, Asia and Europe with many of North America’s
top jazz musicians, including Denzal Sinclaire, Victor Lewis, Guido Basso, Grant
Stewart, Gilad Hekselman and Pat Labarbera.
- Jonas Johansen is known internationally for his work, with the Danish Radio Big Band
(1990-1999), and the Niels Henning Ørsted Pedersen trio (1993 – 2005). He has also
played two European tours with Eliane Elias Trio and latest at North Sea Jazz Festival
in 2013. He has worked with Hermeto Pascoal, Egberto Gismonti, Steve Swallow,
Mauricio Einhorn, Toninho Horta and Airto.
