Fasciculus
gracilis
Carries
sensory
modalities like light touch, vibration and
proprioception. Originates from segments
below T6 and terminates on the nucleus
gracilis.
Fasciculus cuneatus Carries sensory
modalities like light touch, vibration,
proprioception. Originates from T6 and
above. Terminates on the nucleus
cuneatus.
Tractus spinothalamicus Carries crude
touch, pressure, pain and heat. It largely
originates from neurons in the I. IV. and V.
lamina of the grey matter. Terminates in
the thalamus (VPL).
Tractus spinocerebellaris posterior Carries information of proprioreceptors that are
important in movement coordination and posture. Originates from the ipsilateral
Clarke column and terminates on the cerebellar cortex.
Tractus spinocerebellaris anterior : Conveys proprioceptive information that help our
brain coordinate and refine movements . Originates from neurons in the V. VI. and VII.
lamina of the grey matter. Terminates on the cerebellar cortex.
