bracket systems. Presently holds ten US Patents in the field of orthodontics.
Abstract:
Cannon Ultra Orthodontics: simple efficiency
The development, design and utilization of the Cannon Ultra Bracket System will be discussed: especially the advantages it offers over the more conventional edgewise bracket systems during leveling of the arches, treating cases with
sagittal jaw discrepancies, four bicuspid extraction, and closed and open bite. As time allows the following topics will
be discussed.
1. The Evolution of the Edgewise Appliance
2. Leveling and Alignment of the teeth in the arches
3. Evaluation and Treatment of Closed and Open Bite Cases
4. Sagittal Class III Alveolar Dental Compensation
5. Treatment of the Sagittal Class II case
6. Treatment of Cases Requiring Bicuspid Extractions
7. Non-extraction Treatment Utilizing Differential Anchorage
8. Gallery of Treated Cases

Abstract:
The Cannon System: An introduction and explanation
The development of the Cannon System of fixed appliances heralds a new refinement in fixed appliance therapy.
The presentation will illustrate two important aspects of the system illustrating that it is not just a new bracket but in fact
a complete, state of the art philosophy bring treatment standards higher and treatment times shorter.
Why do we need something new, was the “straight wire system” the final achievement in appliance design? We consider
the way in which the Cannon system improves and individualises the fixed appliance.
Why does it work so well? We consider the relative merits of friction and non friction systems to achieve well controlled tooth moovement. Optimal tooth moovement and anchorage depends on correct biomechanics. The establishment
of optimal yet simple biomechanics is possible with the Cannon systems, without complicated wire bending on headgear
will be explained.

Abstract:
What are the limits of teeth orthodontic moovement after root canal treatment?
The number of adult patients starting orthodontic treatment for the purpose of improving the esthetics of their dentition
is continually rising. With these patients, teeth in a large number of cases require prior conservative treatment and sometimes prosthetic equipment. With the age of patients, the rise in the number of teeth endodontically treated is observed,
as well as problem with marginal parodontium. One of important questions raised by doctors-orthodontists is the reaction
of the teeth with filled canals or diseased alveolodental membrane to orthodontic treatment with a fixed appliance. It has
not been found that a risk of complications after the moovement of endodontically treated teeth might be greater than
in the case of moovement of teeth with vital pulp – in fact, the risk of the root resorption taking place is comparable if
not smaller. In the event of the necessity of root canal treatment in the course of orthodontic treatment, the canal should
be temporarily filled with calcium hydroxate and eventually obstructed when the moovement of the tooth is finished.

office with European Board examination in 1998. Member of the European Board of orthodontists, diplomat of the Austrian Board of orthodontists. Nine international orthodontic
patents. Scientific research at the Graz Dental University for moment/force quantification

organisation.
Abstract:
New, revolutionary possibilities in orthodontics using mini anchor screws
Bilaterally placed mini anchor screws (MAS) in the anterior palate open many unimagined new orthodontic and orthopedic aspects. The insertion is quick, simple and riskless and can be done by the orthodontist him/herself. In this area bone
height and bone density are optimal, which reduces the risk of screw loss to less than 3%. Distalisation and mesialisation
of buccal teeth as well as MAS borne Hybrid-Rapid maxillary expansion or secure anchorage are performed invisible and
without any side effect to other teeth. No patient compliance is needed. The insertion of the MAS and the appropriate
treatment appliance takes no more than 15-20 minutes and does not need accompanying laboratory steps. Also in the lower
arch space closure or space opening with these techniques is simple and safe. The small technical input and the easy
implementation are astonishing. Several procedures are presented step-by-step and explained in short movies. Many
possible applications are presented in numerous comprehensible treatment examples.
