Present Simple – form I.
 Infinitive without „to“
(3rd person singular: infinitive + 's')
 I work.
You work.
He / She / It works.
We work.
They work.
watch→watches; play →plays; study →studies
Present Simple – form II.
 Negative and interrogative:
- auxiliary verb do (do not; don’t)
does (does not; doesn’t)
 Short answer:
Yes, I do; Yes, he does.
No, I don’t; No, he doesn’t.
Does he work every day? Yes, he does.
Do you like HW? No, I don’t.
Signal words
 Adverbs of frequency:
- always, often, normally, usually, sometimes,
occasionally, hardly ever, seldom, rarely, never.
 Others:
- every week, every day, every years…; Sundays,
weeks…
Usage
 Things that are always true (or true in
general).
 Things that happen regularly, sometimes or all
the time.
 Timetable.
The earth goes round the sun.
