Let’s begin
You have a problem.
How do you find the
Hypotenuse?
40˚
?
15
Its easy if you use trig functions.
See my angle? Hahaha jk
We all know our trig functions, right?
Not really, so its important to learn them. Lets
start with….
SOME OLD HOOKER COUGHED ACID HATEFULLY
TOWARDS OBAMA ACCURATELY
Sin
Cos
Tan
Or it could be Some Old Hippie Caught A High Tripping
On Acid.
Remember this and you now know what trig functions
mean.
For example
If you have the measure for one angle
(54˚) and the hypotenuse is 15 then you can
find the other sides and angles.
Use the COStrig function to solve for the
Adjacent side of 54 degrees.
Cos54=
You then multiply 15 to get x by itself
So you plug (15)cos54 and get your answer
54˚
x
15
For another Example
• You can use the SIN trig
30˚
Function with this one
x
So you would set it up like
Sin30=
You then need to get x by itself
20
So you “swap” out the x and it ends up like this
X=
and just plug it into the calculator
Now for the Pentagon
You are given the Apothem(a)
and The Radius(r). To
find the Measurement
of one the Sides, use
the pythagorean
r
Theorum. Then multiply
by two.
