1. point – An exact position, often marked by a dot.
2. line – A set of points that forms an endless straight path in opposite directions.
3. line segment – A part of a line with two endpoints.
4. intersecting lines – Lines that cross at one point.
5. parallel lines – Lines that never cross.
6. ray – A part of a line with only one endpoint.
7. angle – Two rays with the same endpoint; that endpoint is the vertex of the angle.
8. vertex of an angle – The endpoint of two rays that form and angle.
9. right angle – An angle that makes a square corner.
10. perpendicular – two lines, line segments, or rays that make a right angle.
11. acute angle – An angle that is open less than a right angle.
12. obtuse angle – An angle that is open more than a right angle.
13. polygon – A closed figure made up of line segments.
14. side – A line segment that forms part of a polygon.
15. vertex of a polygon – The point where two sides of a polygon meet.
16. diagonal – A line segment that connects two vertices of a polygon that are not next
to each other.
17. triangle – A polygon with three sides.
18. quadrilateral – A polygon with four sides.
19. pentagon – A polygon with five sides.
20. hexagon – A polygon with six sides.
21. octagon – A polygon with eight sides.
22. decagon – A polyon with ten sides.
23. equilateral triangle – A triangle having three sides of the same length.
24. isosceles triangle – A triangle with at least two sides having the same length.
25. scalene triangle – A triangle in which no sides have the same length.
26. right triangle – A triangle in which one angle is a right angle.
27. acute triangle – A triangle in which all three angles are acute angles.
28. obtuse triangle – A triangle in which one angle is an obtuse angle.
29. trapezoid – A quadrilateral with exactly one pair of parallel sides.
30. parallelogram – A quadrilateral with two pairs of parallel sides.
31. rectangle – A special parallelogram with four right angles.
32. rhombus – A special parallelogram in which all sides are the same length.
33. square – A special parallelogram with four right angles and all sides the same length.
