• The lungs and respiratory

rid of carbon dioxide in the air

• Biggest muscle of Body
• When you breathe in, the
diaphragm moves downward
,causing lungs to expand
• In exhalation, the diaphragm
moves upward and causing
lungs to contract.

Alveoli
• Every few seconds, with each
inhalation, air fills a large
portion of the millions of
alveoli.
• Oxygen moves from the alveoli
to the blood through the
capillaries.
• Carbon dioxide, moves from
cells into the capillaries

Bronchioles
• The small airways of the lung
extending from the bronchi to
the alveoli.
