What is Obstructive Sleep Apnea?
Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) is emerging as one of the most
widespread and costly health issues in the U.S. OSA is known to affect
more than 18 million Americans, including men, women and children
- 85% of whom are undiagnosed.* Studies show that OSA carries
a strong genetic component and in some cases can be hereditary.*
The disease is characterized by upper airway obstruction, associated
with repeated gaps in breathing and interrupted sleep. People with
obstructive sleep apnea are at serious risk of the below medical
problems and accidents:
•Stroke*
• Heart Attack*
•Obesity*
•Diabetes*
• Motor Vehicle Accidents*

An Orthodontic Approach
This course will provide you with an understanding of the physiology of sleep apnea and the current diagnostic
and treatment options, as well as a new orthodontic approach and its protocols. The orthodontic approach is

an underlying cause. We will demonstrate innovative technologies and convenient, cost effective processes to
improve the diagnostic and treatment experience for patients of all ages. This program is the first-of-its-kind
in the orthodontic industry, and includes a complete, evidence-based system to implement into your
practice now.
OSA affects a person’s health, longevity, and quality of life. YOU can make a difference!

What are Leading Orthodontists saying about Sleep Apnea?

“The mounting body of evidence connecting serious health disorders to sleep apnea points to the
necessity of making the treatment of this condition a standard of care in all orthodontic practices.”
• Effective sleep apnea patient education and practice marketing activities and resources
Dr. Ron Redmond
“Newly developed technologies and scientifically validated protocols now enable orthodontists
to effectively treat people with sleep apnea.”
Dr. David Paquette
“The peer-reviewed literature makes it abundantly clear that untreated sleep-disordered breathing
is at best, seriously debilitating and costly to the healthcare system, and at worst, life threatening.”
