Geometry In
Archeitecture
By: Trevor Hoffman, Andrew McDermott
Circle
• A plane figure bounded by a single
curved line, from the point at the
center of the figure.
Circle Shaped Building
Rectangle
• The Rectangle has four interior right
angles. The Rectangle has two pairs
of opposite sides of equal length.
Parthenon
Semicircle
• A half of a circle as divided by
diameter.
Window
Parallel Lines
• Two lines that do not intersect
are parallel.
Twin Towers
Cube
• A cube has six faces which are all
squares, so each face has four equal
sides and all four interior angles are
right angles.
Cubed Shaped
Building
Square
• A plane figure having four
equal sides. Something
having an equal- sided
rectangular form. With
four congruent sides.
Square
Sculpture
Sphere
• A three-dimensional
surface, all points of
which are equidistant from
a fixed point.
Top Of Building
Pyramid
• A solid figure with a
polygonal base and
triangular faces that
meet at a common
point.
Ancient Egyptian Pyramid
Pentagon
• A Pentagon is a five
sided polygon, with five
interior angles.
Pentagon
Cylinder
• A solid figure consisting of
two parallel bases in the
form of congruent, closed
curves joined by a
smooth, continuous,
closed surface.
Cylinder Shaped
Building
Octagon
• An octagon is a
polygon that has
eight sides. The
internal angle at
each vertex of a
regular octagon is
135°.
Blueprints
Cone
• A solid 3dimensional object
that has a circular
base and one
vertex.
