Think about lines and angles.
You will often have to set up Equations based on a Picture or Geometric Law.
So if <1 = 3X+2
<4= 5X+18
<2 = 2X+68
<9 = 72
However you can break these options into 4 Types
1) Supplementary Angles or Lines.
a. Linear Pairs
<1 + < 4 = 180 means 3x+2+5x+18=180
If A &B are parallel and X & Y are parallel
b. Consecutive Interior Angles
<4 + <9 = 180 means 5X+18 + 72 = 180
2) Congruent Angles.
a. Vertical
<2 = <4
means 2X+68 = 5X+18
If A &B are parallel and X & Y are parallel
b. Corresponding
<2 = <10 & <2 = <6 ((So <6 = <10 = <14)) & More
c. Alt Interior
<4 = <10 & <3 = <9 & More
d. Alt Exterior
<1 = <11 & <2 = <12 & More
If A &B are parallel and X & Y are parallel
Then think about it what angles are equal to what?
Then think about it. If <1 = 80 Degrees. You could find the
other 15 Answers in 30 seconds tops.
3) Complimentary Angles <1 + < 2 = 90
So if <1 = 30. Then 30+<2 = 90 and Angle 2 = 60
So if <1 = 2X+10 and <2 = X+50 then 2x+10+X+50=90 So Solved means X=10 and <1= 30 <2 = 60
4) Interior Angle of a Triangle = 180
<1+<2+<3 = 180
So if <1 =50 and <2 = 30 then 50+30+<3 = 180 and solved <3 = 100
So if <1 = 7X+15
<1 = 50
So if <2 = 6X
Then 7X+15+6X+7X+65=180 Solved X=5 and <2= 30
So if <3 = 7X+65
<3 = 100
5) Exterior Angle of a Triangle = Sum of the 2 NON-Adjacent interior Angles <4 = <1+<2
((This is a provable theorem http://hotmath.com/hotmath_help/topics/exterior-angletheorem.html)
So using the Above: <1 = 50 <2 = 30 and <4 = 50+30 = 80
