Lesson 15a: Points, Rays, Segments, and Lines Objective: Identify and label points, lines, line segments, and rays. Complete in your journal. Warm-­‐up: Math Minute Learn About It: 1. Point – an exact location in space. 2. Line – and endless straight path made up of a continuous collection of points. 3. Line segment – a part of a line and has two endpoints. 4. Ray – has one endpoint and extends without end in one direction. 5. Plane – a collection of points that forms a flat, continuous, and unending surface. 6. Intersecting lines – lines that have one point in common. 7. Perpendicular lines – lines that intersect at right angles. 8. Parallel lines – lines that lie in the same plane but do not intersect.
