Senior Project Manager
Michael Colgrove, is a Senior Project Manager with NYSERDA’s Residential Energy
Affordability Program. Based out of NYSERDA’s New York City regional office, he is
responsible for various programs dealing with multifamily residential properties. These
responsibilities include the development and launch of a new program, the Multifamily
Building Performance Program. This Program addresses the energy efficiency needs of
both new construction and existing multifamily buildings. It is the first Program of its
kind based upon the ENERGY STAR label. The Performance Program was the natural
evolution of previous programs Michael was responsible for including the Assisted
Multifamily Program, a comprehensive building program for low-income properties, the
Multifamily Standardized Training Program, which developed training and certifications
in various job designations related to multifamily properties, and the ENERGY STAR®
Multifamily Pilot Program, which tested the proposed methodologies and protocols for
the ENERGY STAR label.
Prior to his work with NYSERDA, Michael spent nearly 6 years working with lowincome multifamily programs throughout NYC including implementing a program to
encourage the installation of electricity reduction measures, developing environmental
education programs for inner-city youth, and providing building energy assessments with
the Weatherization Assistance Program. He is a graduate of the New York Institute of
Technology’s Energy Management masters program and earned his Bachelors of Science
degree in Environmental Science at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
