It’s so enjoyable for me to observe that even the most hesitant acupuncture patient becomes instantly convinced that the acupuncture treatment is calming, comfortable…and downright relaxing. In clinical studies, acupuncture reduced the amount of pain in cancer patients. In one study, most of the cancer patients treated with acupuncture were able to stop taking drugs for pain relief or to take smaller doses. Acupuncture is also very useful for support if you are undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, or hormonal therapy. Because chemotherapy and radiation therapy weaken the body's immune system, a strict clean needle method must be used when acupuncture treatment is given to cancer patients. Testimonials: During my chemotherapy treatment for ovarian cancer in 2002, I experienced three days of bone pain. They said my body was replenishing the blood with new cells and that caused the bone pain. To ease the pain, I had Tylenol in my desk drawer at work, my purse, my gym bag, my car...practically everywhere. Between my 5th and 6th chemo treatment, I learn about Dr. Wang and her miraculous results for a friend’s daughter who was on a waiting list for a bone marrow transplant. I thought, "How could a few more needles hurt?" I began my visits for acupuncture, which did not hurt a single bit. Then came my sixth round of chemo. Chemotherapy is accumulative, so my sixth was going to be a doozy! I was armed with my Tylenol...but to my astonishment, I had not used a single Tylenol. I had not felt a moments worth of pain! That was my convincing experience that acupuncture really does work. I saw Dr. Wang through all 16 chemotherapy treatments and have been seeing her ever since. I am happy to announce I am a six years ovarian cancer survivor! My word of advice to other cancer patients is to integrate acupuncture with western medical treatments for your optimum results. I know I did! Janet Kempe, Ovarian Cancer Survivor
