Report on Japan Visit
Name of Author : Mr. H S Dalvi
Paper Title:
Study of Various types of Faults with Neuro Fuzzy Controller SSSC and
STATCOM in Stabilization of Grid Connected wind Generator
Name of Conference:
International Conference on Emerging Trends in Engineering &
Technology (ICETET-12), Himeji Japan
Date :- 5-7 November, 2012
Brief Summary :- In grid connected wind generator reactive power is
provided by grid , grid disturbances increases reactive power
requirement .Wind generator continues generation till reactive power
requirement is fulfilled. FACTS devices are considered to be best
solution.Combination of STATCOM and SSSC along with Neuro- fuzzy
controller will improve the stability results.
Some Results :- For Improvement of Stability
Conclusions
• Grid connected wind generators require reactive power for
generation of active power
• Reactive power requirement increases during the fault
• Reactive power requirement if not fulfilled by grid results in
disconnection of wind generator
• Rotor acceleration increases and is not under control
• Voltage of the bus to which wind farm is connected is effected
• Stability is lost
• FACTS devices like STATCOM & SSSC provides reactive power
compensation
• Wind generator continues to generate active power
• Rotor acceleration is under control
• Voltage profile of the bus to which wind farm is connected is
improved
• Stability of wind generator is regained
