DITHANE DG -RAINSHIELD A water dispersible granular fungicide for control of fungal diseases in vegetables, field crops, fruits, vines and ornamentals . It is specially formulated to resist wash-off by rain or irrigation water. Active Ingredient: 750g/kg Mancozeb Formulation : Water Dispersible Granules (DG) Dry flow able, free flowing, non-dusty granule that quickly disperses and suspends into water. Mode of Action Dithane DG is a broad-spectrum protectant fungicide which acts on six enzymatic pathways(multi-site action) in the fungal cell to inhibit spore germination. The product sticks and also moves and spreads with water to trouble spots where spores can be active. The unique surfactants and wetting agents allow due-cycles or rainfall to re-distribute Dithane DG to areas of leaf missed by initial spray deposit, especially lower areas of leaves (veins and margins) where fungi spores tend to congregate. Directions for use Mixing Slowly place the product into spray tank as it is being filled, or thoroughly premix in a nurse tank for concentrate or air craft sprayers. Maintain sufficient agitation during mixing and spraying. when preparing spray solutions for use in a hand sprayer, premix in a small container, and then add to a sprayer containing one third to half the desired final water volume. Timing of application For best results, apply as a regular spray programme. Thorough coverage of the treated crop is essential. Application should be made before overhead irrigation. Compatibility Dithane DG is compatible with most commonly used agricultural fungicides and insecticides, however before preparing tank mixes, the user is advised to check compatibility with the other product recommendations. Field treatments: Apply at 7days intervals commencing 10 days after transplanting and ceasing 7-10days before the first harvest. Increase the spray volume accordingly as plant size increases. Seed bed treatments: Apply when seedlings are 1.5 cm across and then repeat twice weekly. Wet the seedlings evenly without Run –off Start when disease first appears. Apply weekly through out the season. The plants should be thoroughly wetted. Start application in the pre-bloom stage.
