Dr.Coco Garcia
Presented by Dr. Garcia: Adult Nonsurgical Protocols Utilizing the Carrier ® System
Course Overview:
Harmonious forces are created when combining the use of the Carriere Motion™ Appliance and the new Carriere SLX ™ Self-Ligating
Bracket System. This allows you to achieve both occlusal and soft
tissue results, which ensure long-term stability and optimal aesthetics.
This system is extremely effective and can be used in both extraction
and non-extraction cases. Treating Class II and Class III nonsurgical
cases with the Carriere System, Twin Force ® Bite Corrector Device,
and other orthopedic appliances will also be discussed.
Course Objectives:
• Achieving both occlusal and soft tissue harmony for you patients
• Orthodontic and orthopedic treatment options
• Treating Class III cases in adults
About Instructor Dr. “Coco” Garica:
In June 1987, Dr. Garcia became an Associate Professor at the Institute
para El Desarrollo Actualizacion y de Profesionales and the Internacional
Course Coordinator until 1993 – Mexico City,
Mexico. In May 1994, Dr. Garcia accepted the
position as a Professor at the Internacional
Maxillofacial Orthopedic Department/
International Coordinator for U.N.A.M., Iztacala
Campus.
Dr. Garcia also previously held the position of
International Director of Continued Education
at Orthodontic Department at I.D.A.P., Mexico City, Mexico.

therapy and under Dr. Richard McLaughlin and Dr. James Hilger in the
straight wire appliance and the use of segmental and utility arches. From
2001 to 2011, Dr. Garcia continued his functional appliance therapy training
under Dr. Tizianno Baccetti.

with teaching facilities in Germany, Portugal, and Tijuana, Mexico. He
has also developed a nonsurgical approach to treating adult Class III and
Class II cases with ARS and Twin Block modified by Dr. Gene Williamson,

published many articles on nonsurgical protocols for treating adult Class III cases.
Presented by Dr. McFarlane: Clear Aligners Aren’t Enough: Now What?
Course Overview:
Course Objectives:
More and more patients are requesting Clear Aligner orthodontics.
Some patients are not ideal candidates for this type of treatment,
resulting in lengthy treatment plans and occasionally less-than-perfect
occlusion. Having additional orthodontic techniques that you will be
able to incorporate with your current aligner treatment will allow you to
achieve improved, long-term stability in less time, and with better patient
compliance. Starting a Clear Aligner case with a solid Class I platform
greatly reduces the number of trays patients will have to wear, and
improves your final results and profitability.
• Case selection for better Clear Aligner outcomes
• Achieving a Class I platform prior to Clear Aligner treatment
• The orthodontic movements that are challenging for Clear Aligners
• Specific devices and auxiliaries for: Extrusions, Rotations, AnteroPosterior change, Transverse change
Presented by Dr. McFarlane: Class II Correction using the Twin Force Bite Corrector Device
Course Overview:
Course Objectives:
When diagnosing a Class II malocclusion, attention should be given
not only to the sagittal plane, but the transverse and vertical plane
should also be considered. Skeletal Class II patients may benefit from
treatment which includes mandibular advancement, maxillary expansion,
and vertical control. Treating patients using the Twin Force Bite Corrector
Appliance will be discussed.
• Patient selection
• Placing the Twin Force Bite Corrector Device
• Mechanics of the Twin Force Bite Corrector Device in growing and
non-growing patients

when patient compliance levels are at their highest, provides unique
efficiencies and reduces the need for extractions. The use of the Carriere Motion Appliance, as well as the Twin Block ® Appliance and
other functional appliances in the mixed dentition will be discussed. The long-term stability and treatment results will be examined.
• Diagnosis of Class II malocclusion
• Differential diagnosis of skeletal and dental etiology
• Soft tissue analysis of Class II
• Early use of Functional Appliances
• Clinical case presentation
Presented by Dr. Klempner: Social Media – Use it or Lose Out!!
Course Overview:
Course Objectives:
Our dental practices are currently being threatened by a number of
external factors. It is vitally important that we are prepared to meet

online and their decisions are heavily influenced by what other patients
and parents are saying about us.
• Understand the new changing business environment which threatens
our future success
The following topics will be covered in the lecture:
• Why your practice needs social media to survive
• Are you invisible? Google search
• Digital age - How it affects your bottom line
• What if I get a bad review?
• Reputation management
• Building trust and confidence
• How to harness the power of the internet
• Recession proof your practice
• How to obtain a 300% return on investment (ROI)
• Using Facebook, Blogs, and YouTube to enhance your credibility
• Clinical case presentation
• Understand the new ways parents and patients make decisions given
the wealth of information available to them online
• Understand ways to build a positive online reputation and, just as
important, protect it from inevitable negative patient reviews
Dr. Klempner received his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University
of Maryland in 1975 and his certification in Orthodontics from Tufts
University in 1977. He has been a Diplomate of the American Board of
