BEC 202: COURSE DESCRIPTION Economics Statistics The main topics to be covered are: probability theory: T he theory of probability may be considered as a bridge between descriptive statistics and inferential statistics. Descriptive statistics was covered in our earlier unit in statistics and inferential statistics is the focus of this unit. Statistical inference is that procedure of selecting a sample from a population and then making inferences from this sample concerning the original population.
