9.5 Inscribed Angles
Inscribed Angle: an angle whose vertex is on the circle and whose
sides contain chords of the circle.
Intercepted Arc: the arc that lies in the interior of an
inscribed angle and has endpoints on the angle.
Theorems of Inscribed Angles
The measure of the inscribed angle is 1/2 the intercepted arc.

If 2 inscribed angles of a circle or congruent circles intercept
congruent arcs or the same arc, then the angles are congruent.

If an inscribed angle of a circle intercepts a semicircle, then the angle is
a right angle.
Therefore, the diameter is the hypotenuse of the right triangle formed by the
