The Fairfield Regional Fire School invites all First Responders to attend a free seminar taught by the Drug Enforcement Agency New England Field Division Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement Team Clan Lab Awareness for First Responders Monday, November 26th, 2007 from 8:30am – 4:30pm at the Quick Center for the Performing Arts Fairfield University 1073 North Benson Road in Fairfield, Connecticut coffee, pastries & lunch will be provided for the the first 300 registrants for information & registration email [email protected] POST & FIRE MARSHAL CREDITS AVAILABLE presented in cooperation with Fairfield University, the Fairfield Hazardous Incident Response Team, and Fairfield Police & Fire Departments The DEA New England Field Division’s Clandestine Laboratory Enforcement Team designed this Clan Lab Awareness Training Program to achieve the following Objectives: Provide a general overview of types and locations of clan labs, with particular focus on “club drug” labs (GHB, Ecstasy, ketamine) and methamphetamine production; Increase your awareness of the elements of clan lab operations that will help you immediately recognize a clan lab, and the danger signals of that lab and the “cooks” or lab operators; Demonstrate mock clan lab equipment, chemicals, and improvised materials commonly found in clan lab manufacturing, to allow you to make a positive identification of what you may come upon on the street and to assist you in accurate initial reporting; Present descriptions of hazards common to all clan labs in order to maximize your personnel’s safety and to protect the public should you encounter this type of clan lab activity while performing your mission.
