COMPLETENESS
4—Includes 9 mRNA nucleotides and appropriate complementary nucleotides for both
Transcription (DNA) and Translation (tRNA)
3—Includes 9 mRNA nucleotides and appropriate complementary nucleotides for one process but
less than 9 for the other
2—Includes 9 mRNA nucleotides but does NOT include all appropriate complementary
nucleotides
1—Includes less than 9 mRNA Nucleotides
COLOR—KEY—NEATNESS—DETAIL--ACCURACY
4—Each Nucleotide part has it’s own color, are consistent from Transcription to Translation, a
complete key IS provided, and project is neat and attractive
3—Each Nucleotide part has it’s own color, are consistent from Transcription to Translation,
project is neat and attractive but a complete key is NOT provided
2—Each Nucleotide part has it’s own color, are NOT consistent from Transcription to Translation

TRANSCRIPTION
4—Process of Transcription is accurate including antiparallel strands, correct template strand, and
correct directional building
3— Process of Transcription is mostly accurate but may have ONE mistake in process such as
building RNA in wrong direction
2— Process of Transcription is partially accurate and has two errors such as incorrect template
strand, non-antiparallel strands etc.
1— Process of Transcription does NOT demonstrate any of the correct processes
TRANSLATION
4—Process of Translation is accurate including: correct directional movement (orientation) of
mRNA through Ribosome, the 9 mRNA Nucleotides are the same ones built during
Transcription, correct complementary pairing of mRNA and tRNA.
3—Process of Translation is mostly accurate with one of the following inaccurate or missing:
the 9 mRNA Nucleotides are the same ones built during Transcription, correct complementary
pairing of mRNA and tRNA, mRNA (relative to that in Transcription) follows correct orientation
(movement) through the Ribosome.
2—Process of Translation is partially accurate with two of the following inaccurate or missing:
complementary pairing of mRNA & tRNA, correct directional movement (orientation) of mRNA
through Ribosome (relative to that in Transcription), the 9 mRNA Nucleotides are the same ones
built during Transcription
1—Process of Translation is inaccurate with all of the following either missing or in error:
complementary pairing of mRNA & tRNA, correct directional movement (orientation) of mRNA
(relative to that in Transcription) through Ribosome, the 9 mRNA Nucleotides are the same ones
built during Transcription.
