• Some organisms do not kill the prey they
feed on.
• Any relationship in which two species live
closely together is called symbiosis.
• Parasitism is a relationship in which one
organism feeds on the tissues or body fluids
of another.
– Fleas and Dogs
• A symbiotic relationship that benefits one
species and neither helps nor harms the
other is called commensalism.
– Barnacles living on the skin of a whale.
• A symbiotic relationship in which both
species benefit is called mutualism.
– Ants and the Acacia tree.
