Research Experience
2002 – 2007
Research Assistant, Stanford University
Project: Tools for precise understanding of natural language texts
 Built a system for solving logic puzzles from their textual descriptions.
 Analyzed advanced linguistic constructions, reviewed relevant
linguistic literature, improved existing analyses by making them more
systematic, simple, and comprehensive.
 Proved soundness and completeness of the algorithm I developed at
PARC.
2006
Research Assistant, Palo Alto Research Center, NLTT group
 Solved the open problem: how to combine “glue semantics” for
natural language semantics with the “choice space” method for
efficiently managing natural language ambiguity.
 Developed an algorithm that combines both methods and efficiently
computes packed meaning representations given packed syntactic
analyses.
 Integrated the algorithm with XLE (Xerox Linguistics Environment).
1997 – 2000
Researcher, Tel Aviv University
 Research in Logic on non-monotonic reasoning with inconsistencies,
and non-deterministic semantics for Genzen-type proof systems.
 Developed a knowledge-representation language and an inference
engine for it based on propagation of constraints. Implemented the
KR language as an extension of Lisp (CLOS) using its meta-object
protocol (MOP).
