1. List the three major body systems.
2. Identify major bones of the body on a diagram, on yourself and on a partner
including:
• Cranium, Clavicle, Scapula, Humerus, Radius, Ulna, Olecranon, Carpals,
Metacarpals, Phalanges, Patella, Tibia, Fibula, Tarsals, Metatarsals, Calcaneus,
Phalanges, Femur, Iliac crests, Ischial tuberosity, Spine (regions and number of
vertebra), Maxilla, Mandible, Sternum
3. Identify common “directionals” on a diagram, on yourself and on a partner including:
• Anterior, Posterior, Inferior, Superior, Medial, Lateral, Proximal, Distal
4. Identify the abdominal quadrants on a diagram, on yourself and on a partner.
5. Describe the location and function of the atria.
6. Describe the location and function of the ventricles (in the heart).
7. Describe the location and function of the aorta.
8. Describe the location and function of the vena cava.
9. Describe the location and function of the arteries.

Describe the location and function of the capillaries.

Describe the location and function of the venules.

14. Explain the concept of “pump, volume and container” as it describes the functioning

16. Explain the role of the smooth muscle in the walls of blood vessels and bronchioles.
17. Identify body positions on a diagram, on yourself and on a partner: Supine, Prone,
Lateral Recumbent, Fowler’s, Semi-Fowlers, Trendelenburg
