Anderson Schools of Management Undergraduate Program Minor in Management Students interested in adding a Minor in Management should meet with the advisor in their major college to declare the minor and have it added to the degree plan. Students interested in obtaining a Minor concentration in Management must complete 18 hours with a “C-” or better from the following two categories: CATEGORY ONE: Choose six to nine hours from the following: MGT 113: An Introduction to Management MGT 202: Principles of Financial Accounting STATS 145: Introduction to Statistics or STATS 345: Elements of Mathematical Statistics & Probability Theory • ECON 106* : Introductory Microeconomics or ECON 105: Introductory Macroeconomics or ECON 300: Intermediate Microeconomics. • • • * ECON 106 is a prerequisite for several upper division Management courses Please note: Students majoring in Economics will not be allowed to include economics courses in their Minor in Management. A maximum of three credits of economics will be counted toward the minor. CATEGORY TWO: Choose nine to twelve hours from 300-level management courses. Students are encouraged to include courses from several areas of study in their minor. Areas of study include: • • • • • • • • Human Resources Management (MGT 306, MGT 308) Accounting (MGT 303) Law (MGT 310) Marketing (MGT 322) Financial Management (MGT 326) International Management (MGT 328) New Venture Strategies (MGT 324) Operations (MGT 300) Please consult the UNM catalog for course descriptions and pre-requisites. For all students beginning their Management Minor after summer 2003, the requirements listed above must be followed. Students who began their minor prior to this date may complete their Minor in Management following the requirements listed in the previous UNM Catalog.
