Objectives Giving instructions and explanations of the procedures of Practical Statistics, which includes: a. The preparation procedure of the module of Practicum Industrial Statistic. b. The implementation procedures of Pre-Practicum Industrial Statistic. e. The implementation procedure of the practicum until the Exam of Practicum Industrial Statistic. f. The evaluation procedures of Practicum Industrial Statistic. 2. Scope This procedure is applied to the whole series of practicum statistics activities which is conducted at the Statistic and Quality Engineering Laboratory for IE-UB students who have programmed the Practicum of Industrial Statistic. 3. Definition Practicum Industrial Statistics is one practicum with load 1 credits that must be taken for the students of IE UB. The Practicum of Industrial Statistics is a major work program of the Statistics and Quality Engineering Laboratory and Industrial Engineering Program curriculum. 4. The Duties and the Responsibilies a. Students of IE-UB who take the practicum of Industrial Statistics Students of IE-UB who is currently studying the practicum of industrial statistics are then referred to as the practitioner has the responsibility to follow the practicum well and maintain the good name of Statistic and Quality Engineering Laboratory. b. Assistant of Statistics and Quality Engineering Laboratory IE-UB Laboratory assistant are in charge of carrying out of practicum of industrial statistics as part of the work program of the Statistical and Quality Engineering Laboratory and Industrial Engineering course curriculum. Laboratory assistant responsible for successful of the practicum of statistic and quality engineering c. Assistant's Coordinator of Statistics and Quality Engineering IT-UB Assistant's coordinator in charge of coordinating a laboratory assistant in the practicum implementation of industrial statistics and responsible for the performance and consistency of laboratory assistant in running the practicum of industrial statistics. d. Head of The Statistic and Quality Engineering Laboratory IE-UB B Head of Laboratory as supreme leader and person in charge of Statistic and Quality Engineering Laboratory 5. Procedure of Practicum Industrial Statistics 5.1 Procedure of the module preparation of Practicum Industrial Statistics 5.1.1 Definitions Module of the practicum of Industrial statistics are handbook or guide for IE student which take the practicum of industrial statistic. 5.1.2 Functions Module of the practicum of Industrial Statistic will provide guidance of the implementation of the practicum of industrial statistic for IE students who follow the practicum of industrial statistic. 5.1.3 The module contents arrangement of Industrial Statistic Practicum Module of practicum Industrial Statistics to be used in the practicum consists of five modules, namely: a. Module 1: Descriptive Statistics b. Module 2: Theory of Probability c. Module 3: Probability Distributions d. Module 4: Statistical Parametric e. Module 5A: Anova f. Module 5B: Statistics of Non-Parametric g. Module 5C: Correlation and Regression Analysis 5.1.4 Guidelines for The Preparation The module of the practicum of industrial statistic is based on the necessary and the development of statistical and quality engineering science and follow the applicable curriculum in Industrial Engineering Faculty of Engineering, Brawijaya University. 5.1.5 a. Procedure Assistant's coordinator designate one of the Laboratory Assistant as a Practicum Coordinator in charge of coordinating all activities of the laboratory assistant in the practicum to industrial statistic. b. Coordinator of assistant, practicum coordinator and assistant laboratory held a coordination meeting to discuss and define which modules will be practiced. c. Start from doing drafting module of practicum in accordance with the timeline that has been made. d. Showing draft of the practicum's module that has been prepared and consulted to the head of the statistic and quality engineering laboratory and also lecturers of industrial statistics I and II. e. If the head of the laboratory and lecturers of industrial statistics I and II considers there is a shortage of the content of the material in the module of practicum, the draft will be revised. f. If there is no revision of the draft practicum modules will be refined and defined as statistical practicum module industrial by practicum coordinator and assistant laboratory under the coordination of the Assistant's Coordinator. g. Coordinator of Laboratory Assistant held a joint lab simulations and strengthening of the content of lab work module that was created. 5.2 Registration Procedure of Practicum Industrial Statistics 5.2.1 Target Students of IE UB who qualify for following the practicum industrial statistics then referred to as a participant of the practicum of industrial statistic. 5.2.2 a. Terms and Conditions Already take courses of industrial statistics I and they are taking courses of industrial statistics II or they has been taking a course of industrial statistics II b. Practicum of industrial statistic has been programmed in KRS c. Collecting the registration form at the Statistics and Quality Engineering Laboratory with the following conditions: 1). The registration form has been filled completely 2). KHS include a photocopy of the semester 3 (three) 3). Submitting three (3) pieces of ID photo with a size 3x 4 colored 4). Collecting all files into the red folder and collected in accordance with a predetermined time. d. Terms and conditions cannot be contested, and if the terms and conditions are not fulfilled, It means they cannot participate in the practicum of industrial statistic. 5.2.3 a. Description of Procedure Prospective of participant's practicum take registration form in the laboratory of statistic and quality engineering laboratory in accordance with a predetermined time. b. Prospective of participant's practicum fill out the registration form and complete the file and the terms that have been determined c. Prospective of participant practicum collect the registration form and all the files in statistic and quality engineering laboratory in accordance with a predetermined time 5.3 Procedure of the group determination of Industrial Statistic practicum 5.3.1 a. Description of Procedure Practicum Coordinator and laboratory assistant make a recapitulation and record prospective practitioner who already register. b. Practicum Coordinator and laboratory assistant check the terms and conditions.. c. Practicum Coordinator and aboratory assistant define and validate practitioner candidates who have fullfiled the terms and conditions.. d. Practicum Coordinator submit all the list of candidates who are qualified to the assistant's coordinator and the head of the statistic and quality engineering laboratory for legalized them as the participant of the practicum.. e. Practicum Coordinator and laboratory assistant began to divide the practicum participant into groups considered by the number and capabilities of existing laboratory assistant with the number of group members as much as 4-5 participant. f. Practicum Coordinator proposed the names of lab assistant who will be accompanying the group during practicum to assistant coordinator and head of the statistic and quality engineering laboratory. 5.3.2 Note a. If the list of the gruop participant and the name of the laboratory assistant has been sent and approved. They will be announced to the practicum participant. b. It will be held Introduction (Intro) for the practicum participant which is implemented in accordance with the time specified by the statistics and quality engineering laboratory.. 5.4 Procedures of Implementation Pre-Practicum Industrial Statistic 5.4.1 Definitions Pre-lpracticum industrial statistics are activities which will be followed by a praticum participant before they are joining the practicum 5.4.2 Objective Pre-practicum of industrial statistics done so that the learners can prepare for the practicum work well. 5.4.3 Provisions Pre-practicum of industrial statistic will be held when the practicum introduction already done. It is accordance with the provisions that have been determined by the statistic and the quality engineering laboratory. 5.4.4 Description of Procedure a. Laboratory assistant assign tasks to the practicum partcipant and then the task will be discussed with the laboratory assistant of each of group. b. The practicum participant do laboratory assistant with the laboratory assistant and discuss the tasks that have been given.. c. Laboratory assistant do the pre-lab test and review of the science of industrial statistics that had been obtained in the college.. d. Laboratory assistants provide an assessment as the results of the pre practicum implementation in accordance with the assessment of each assistant who handle the group. e. Assistant laboratory do the evaluation and final preparations for the practicum of industrial statistics. 5.5 Procedure of Practical Implementation until the Practical Exam Industrial Statistics 5.5.1 Module 1: Descriptive Statistics 5.5.1.1 The purpose Practicum The purpose of this lab is: a. Calculating and processing the data from the case studies either manually or with software. b. Presenting an informative data. c. Analyzing and interpreting of data from the data presentation. 5.5.1.2 Practicum benefits The benefits obtained from this practicum are: a. The practicum participant can calculate and process the data from case studies either manually or with software. b. The practicum participant can present the data informatively. c. Identify problem of research object. b. Collect the extern data. c. Process data regarding descriptive statistic manually and software and presentation. d. Data analysis and interpret. e. Get the result. f. Make conclusions. 5.5.2 Practicum Module 2: Probability Theory 5.5.2.1 Practicum Purpose These are practicum purpose: a. To know how to calculate chance, permutation, and combination. b. To know and understand application of chance, permutation, and combination. 5.5.2.2 Benefit These are benefit of practicum: a. Practicum participant can calculate chance, permutation, and combination. b. Prepare dartboard. b. Rotate dartboard one rotatry for 20 replication. c. Write observations in observation sheet then process chance data. 5.5.2.4.2 Procedure of Permutation and Combination Practicum These are procedure of permutation and combination practicum: a. Prepare 5 piece of lego with different color. b. Arrange 5 lego in accordance assistant directions. c. Write observations in observation sheet. d. Process permutation and combination data. 5.5.3 Practicum Module 3: Probability Distribution 5.5.3.1 Practicum Purpose These are practicum purpose: a. Be able to know and understand the various probability distributions. b. Be able to calculate using software MINITAB/SPSS and do manually to solve probability distribution problem. c. Be able to know and understand the difference empirical and theoretical data of probability distribution problem. 5.5.3.2 Benefit These are practicum benefit: a. The participant of practicum can know and understand the various probability distributions. b. The participant of practicum can calculate using software MINITAB/SPSS and do manually to solve probability distribution problem. c. The participant of practicum can know and understand the difference empirical and theoretical data of probability distribution problem. 5.5.3.3 Flow Diagram of Practikum Module 3 This is flow diagram of practicum module 3. Prepare tools and materials. b. There are 30 scrabble letter, consist of 12 vowels and 18 consonants. c. Take one letter randomly. d. Write in observation sheet if vowel is picked. e. Reinsert the vowel that is picked. f. Do 3-5 step until 4 times (1 replication). g. Do it again until 10 replications. h. Analysis and interpretation. i. Conclusions and suggestions. 5.5.3.4.2 Procedure of Normal Distribution Practicum These are procedure of normal distribution practicum: a. Prepare tools and materials. b. Assistant will provide one puzzle set which has been organized as example. c. 2 members of group must complete each puzzles that has not been arranged. (For practicum participant tasted to make an model/operator more emphasis to work normally (not slow/fast) so that the resulting time will not differ much). 2 other members write the time needed to complete puzzle for each opetator. If 1 replicationhas been arranged, operator can move to second puzzle to make next replication while another member can help unload replication that have been made previously and were randomized. d. Do it again until 40 replications. e. Write observations in observation sheet. 5.5.3.4.3 Procedure of Hypergeometric Distribution Practicum These are procedure of hypergeometric distribution practicum: a. Prepare tools and material. b. There are 30 marbles, consist of 25 standard marbles and 5 blue marbles. c. Pick marbles one by one without replacement until 5 marbles picked (1 replication). d. Write the frequency of blue marble appearance in one replication in to observation sheet. e. Do it again until 10 replications. f. Analysis and interpretation. g. Conclusions and suggestions. 5.5.3.4.4 Procedure of Poisson Distribution Practicum These are procedure of poisson distribution practicum: a. Prepare tools and materials. b. There are 50 marbles. Pick one by one in 1 minute. c. TRUE statement (x) if blue marble is picked. Write in observation sheet. d. Do it again until 10 replication. e. Analysis and interpretation. f. Conclusions and suggestions. 5.5.3.4.5 Procedure of Geometric Distribution Practicum These are procedure of geometric distribution practicum: a. Prepare tools and materials. b. There are 56 UNO card, consist of 12 green cards and 44 red cards. c. Pick a card randomly to know number picked, then replacement the picked card. d. Do third step until one green card picked. e. Success if green card picked, write the number of card picked until there is FIRST successful in one replication in to observation sheet. f. Do it again until 10 replication. g. Analysis and interpretation. h. Conclusions and suggenstions. 5.5.3.4.6 Procedure of Pascal Distribution Practicum These are procedure of pascal distribution practicum: a. Prepare tools and materials. b. There are 50 bridge card, consist of 13 diamond cards and 37 other cards. c. Pick one card randomly to know the mark in card, the replacement the picked card. d. Do third step until 3 club card picked. e. Successful if diamond card picked, write the number of card picked until there are 3 successful in one replication in to observation sheet. f. Do it again until 10 replications. g. Analysis and interpretation. h. Conclusions and suggentions. 5.5.3.4.7 Procedure of Exponential Distribution Practicum These are procedure of exponential distribution practicum: a. Prepare tools and materials. b. There are 20 scrabble letter (5 vowels and 15 consonants). c. Pick the letter continuely until there is successful (vowel) appear (40 replikations). d. Write the time needed between each successful in to observation sheet. e. Analysis and interpretation. f. Conclusion and suggestions. 5.5.4 Practicum Module 4: Parametric Statistic 5.5.4.1 Practicum Propose These are practicum proposes: a. Testing the hypothesis as a tool of decision making. b. Understanding the usefulness and application of parametric statistic. c. Capable to calculate ANOVA (Analisis of Variance). d. Capable to implementation the ANOVA calculation to all experimental design. 5.5.4.2 Benefit These are practicum benefit: a. Practicum participant can test the hypothesis as a tool of decision making. b. Practicum participant can understand the usefulness and application of parametric statistic. c. Practicum participant can calculate ANOVA ( Analisis of Variance) d. Collecting study case data given by laboratorium Statistik dan Rekayasa Kualitas (One Sample T-Test: 30 data, Independent T-Test: 30 data, Paired T-Test: 30 data). Dengan rincian sebagai berikut: 1). Odd group between 1-10 get first data 2). Even group between 1-10 get second data 3). Odd group between 11-20 get third data 4). Even group between 11-20 get fourth data 5). Odd group between 21-30 get fifth data 6). Even group between 21-30 get sixth data b. Testing the data normality and data homogeneity. c. Processing study case data by calculate manually and using SPSS and minitab. d. Make data analysis and interpretation. e. Make conclusion and suggestions. 5.5.4.5 Practice Procedures of One Way ANOVA Below are the practice procedures of One Way ANOVA. a. Secondary data may be collected from essay data through 1 factor with a minimum of 4 level of factor and through minor sample less than 30 samples. Min. 10 samples b. Enclose essay data evidences as an attachment. c. Identify secondary data problems d. Secondary data processing may be calculated using manual calculations and also with SPSS calculations e. Data analysis and data interpretation f. Conclusions and suggestions g. Compose a report h. Finish 5.5.5 Module Practices 5 : Correlation and Regression Analysis 5.5.5.1 Practice Purposes The purposes of this practice are: a. To know the correlation between independent variable and dependent variable. b. To understand the application of regression analysis usage, which are simple linear regression and double linear regression. 5.5.5.2 Benefits The benefits of this practice are: a. This practice could understand the correlation between independent variable and dependent variable. b. Collect simple linear regression data linear and double linear regression which have been given from the Statistics and Quality Engineering laboratory, where each 5 groups will receive the same data. 1). Group 1-5 = 1st Data 2). Group 6 -10 = 2nd Data 3). Group 11 – 15 = 3rd Data 4). Group 16 – 20 = 4th Data 5). Group 21-25 = 5th Data 6). Group 26 -30 = 6th Data d. Have regression assumption, including normality, homogeneity and linearity. e. Have tests on regression assumption deviation, including autocorrelation, multi co-linearity and hetero skedasticity. f. Have data processing manually and using software SPSS 20. g. Have analysis and interpretation from correlation and regression test results. h. Make conclusions and suggestions. 5.6 Industrial Statistics Practice Evaluation Procedures 5.6.1 Purposes The purposes of Industrial Statistics Practice Evaluation are to evaluate the test results of practice performances and have final rating of practices. 5.6.2 Procedure lists a. Applicants create the reports based on the ongoing practice. b. Applicants follow the assistance report to the laboratory assistant companions respectively. c. Laboratory assistant companions will give test and grades to the test reports which applicants create and will give acc of assistant ink. d. Laboratory assistants will entirely give tests called the statistics tests to all applicants. e. Applicants will follow assistance report to their lecturers and receive acc of lecturer ink and grading. f. Laboratory assistant will recap the grades that have been given by all assistants, statistics test results, and lecturer’s grading. g. Laboratory assistant will recalculate applicants’ final grade based on certain proportion. h. Laboratory assistant will submit final grading results to the head of statistics and quality engineering laboratory and receive legalization. i. Laboratory assistant will make satisfactory letter for applicants. j. Laboratory assistant will give satisfactory letter to applicants. 6.
