Lesson 8: Angle Properties of Parallel Lines Intersected by a Transversal Unit 4 Lines, Angles, Triangles, and Quadrilaterals Key Vocabulary • Parallel: Lines on the same flat surface that do not intersect (cross each other) • Transversal: a line that crosses two or more lines Key Vocabulary Corresponding Angle: the angles in matching corners when two lines are crossed by another line (called the Transversal). If the lines crossed are parallel the corresponding angles will be equal. Key Vocabulary Alternate Interior Angle: the pairs of angles on opposite sides of the transversal but inside the two lines. If the lines are parallel, these angles will be equal.
