1. Interphase
- Characterized by a distinct nucleus
- No chromosomes within the nucleus
- Nucleus appears fairly evenly colored across the entire thing.
2. Prophase
- The nucleus appears to be evenly stained
- There is now the appearance of dots or streaks
inside the nucleus
3. Metaphase
- Chromosomes are at their most condensed
form.
- Chromosomes are aligned at the metaphase
plate/ at the center of the cell.
4. Anaphase
- Chromosomes are being pulled apart from one another,
separating from one another.
- There is a gap and a presence of two dark streaks.
5. Telophase
- There is a visible division of the cytoplasm.
- There is a two set of chromosomes which are pretty far apart
from one another.
- There is the presence of the cleavage furrow
