On July 10, 2018, I joined a social
movement called "Nitgaber" (overcome)Transparent Disabled. We try to promote
the rights of the transparent disabled,
that is: people like me who suffer from
medical problems and very serious
diseases that are not conspicuously
visible to the outside world- external
invisibility that causes very severe
discrimination against us.
One of the areas in which there is severe
and long-standing discrimination is the
housing sector: we receive a sum of NIS
770 per month for the purpose of paying
rent- an amount that has not been
updated for many years. As is well known,
with this amount it is not currently
possible to rent an apartment in any area
in the country- and this is all the more
true when it comes to apartments
accessible to the disabled, in which the
payments are even slightly higher.
Our goal is to bring about a change in this
situation, and to cause the amount of
rent assistance to be adjusted to the
current rental prices.
But now a problem has arisen: when we
try to schedule a meeting on this matter
with the Minister of Construction and
Housing in the State of Israel, Mr. Zeev
Elkin, an outrageous conduct is repeated,
time and time again: we set a day and
time for the meeting, and then we
receive a phone call from the Minister's
Office on the cancellation or
postponement of the meeting, and this is
always done very close to the date of the
meeting at the last minute, using various
and strange excuses some of which later
turn out to be false. Our impression is
that this is done intentionally and
maliciously, and that in this way the
Ministry of Construction and Housing
continues to evade dealing with the
difficult problem because of which
thousands of disabled people have
already been ejected to their deaths on
the street.
We would like to know what you think
can be done about it.

But from experience, I have learned that

the phone.
I am therefore interested to know how it
is possible to get the members of the
bureau to actually get back to me by
phone and allow me to coordinate my
arrival for the meeting, as agreed with
them orally by phone.

October 13, 21 at 11:00 AM, an invitation

"Overcoming" Transparent Disabled
