Extinction- the fact or process of a species, family, or other group of animals or plants becoming extinct. 4. Impermeable- not allowing fluid to pass through. 5. Karst- topography formed from the dissolution of soluble rocks such as limestone, dolomite, and gypsum. 6. Permeable- allowing liquids or gases to pass through it. 7.Recharge- restore an electric charge to (a battery or a battery-operated device) by connecting it to a device that draws power from another source of electricity. 8.Recharge Zone- The recharge zone is the area where surface water seeps through limestone karst into the aquifer. 9. Threatened- state one's intention to take hostile action against someone in retribution for something done or not done. 10. Unconfined- not confined to a limited space. 11.Aquifer- a body of permeable rock which can contain or transmit groundwater. 12. Competition- the activity or condition of competing. 13. Contaminants- a polluting or poisonous substance that makes something impure. 14.Ecologist- an expert in or student of ecology. 15. Ecology- the branch of biology that deals with the relations of organisms to one another and to their physical surroundings. 16. External Stimuli- In physiology, a stimulus is a detectable change in the physical or chemical structure of an organism's internal or external environment. 17.Groundwater- water held underground in the soil or in pores and crevices in rock. 18. Habitat- the natural home or environment of an animal, plant, or other organism. 19. Headwater- a tributary stream of a river close to or forming part of its source. 20.Herpetologist- the branch of zoology concerned with reptiles and amphibians. 21.Invasion- an instance of invading a country or region with an armed force. 22. Nonrenewable- not able to be renewed. 23 Recovery- a return to a normal state of health, mind, or strength. 24.Runoff- a further competition, election, race, etc., after a tie or inconclusive result. 25 Spring- one of the four temperate seasons, succeeding winter and preceding summer. 26.Status- the relative social, professional, or other standing of someone or something. 27. Structures- the arrangement of and relations between the parts or elements of something complex. 28.Taxonomy- the branch of science concerned with classification, especially of organisms; systematics.
