Name ____________________________________ CELL–A–BRATION: ANIMAL CELL ANALOGY PROJECT Due: _______________ PROJECT GUIDELINES: After studying cells and their functions, you will create a display of either a plant or an animal cell that uses ONE analogy to explain the functions of the cell’s organelles. For example, in class I showed you a picture of how a real factory operates and compared it to how a cell operates using the parts of a factory to explain how a cell works. Each part of the analogy corresponds to a part of the cell. Your cell display should be designed so that all parts are clearly visible, accurately represented, and labeled. Your analogies and labels must be TYPED! Your cell design must be large enough so everyone can see all of the parts and all sources of information you used to help you must be cited correctly. HOW DO I MAKE THE CELL? You can choose to make the cell analogy display out of poster board, card stock etc. Your display must be in color! The drawing or representation of the cell analogy must be done neatly and creatively. WHAT DO I TURN IN? 1) Cell analogy display of a plant or animal cell with each part clearly explained and labeled. 2) Properly documented resources of information you used. ** You could be awarded with 5 extra credit points if your project is selected to be the Most Scientific or Most Creative. Each class will vote on the winner for each category.
