1. There is a different between batch and real-time processing.
Batch processing assemble transactions into groups for processing while Real-time
processing systems process individual transactions continuously as they occur. Batch
processing requires less resources while real-time processing requires more resources
to process. Batch processing has lag time between when the economic event occurs and
when it is recorded while real-time processing has no time lag. Certain records from
batch processing are processed after the event to avoid operational delays while all
records from real-time processing are processed immediately pertaining to the event.
2. Auditors use flowcharts because they wanted to verify the correctness
of program logic by comparing flowcharts to actual program code to determine
whether the program is following what the documentation describes.
