Unit Instructional Resources: Brainpop video- sentences, noun, verb Concept: Identify subject and predicate of a sentence Concept: Identify the correct use of nouns. Concept: Identify correct use of verbs. Pre-Assessment Strategy: Have students identify the subject and predicate in a sentence by underlining them on the board or paper. Pre-Assessment Strategy: Make a list of nouns and put them in a graphic organizer. Pre-Assessment Strategy: Have students show an action and write what they are doing on the board in a list (students can write these in journals too.) ex. jump Vocabulary: Vocabulary: Nouns, common, proper, singular, possesive Vocabulary: Verb, action verb, helping verb, linking verb, main verbs Lesson Essential Question: How is a simple subject and predicate different from a compound subject and predicate?
