Petra Diamonds is a leading independent diamond mining group and an increasingly important supplier of rough diamonds to the
international market. The Company has interests in five producing mines: four in South Africa (Finsch, Cullinan, Koffiefontein and
Kimberley Underground) and one in Tanzania (Williamson). It also maintains an exploration programme in Botswana.

Job Description: The incumbent will be responsible to assist the Group Projects Mining Engineer in planning, tracking of projects
and Life of Mine planning scenarios. This position is based in Cullinan.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist the Group Projects Mining Engineer by:

Running scenarios to optimise and report on Life of Mine Plans

Tracking current Mining projects

Providing input into studies, planning and business cases

Assisting in the development of the MineRP system

Work according to the Company’s Code of Practice

Ensure adherence and compliance to SHEQ
Minimum Requirements:

Degree or B Tech in Mining Engineering

Experience in a Mine Planning / Project environment an advantage

Project Management qualification – an advantage

Knowledge of Mine Design and Scheduling Software (e.g. 2-4D, MineRP Enterprise solutions, GEMS Suite and EPS)

Computer literate (MS Office Suite)

Valid drivers’ license
Other Skills/Competencies:

Good written and verbal communication skills in English, as well as sound interpersonal skills

Ability to work under pressure

Show initiative and be self-motivated

Report writing skills
