Such commitments are met through the application of Environmental Management instruments consistent with the principles of Sustainable Development. Furthermore, all of our workers are responsible for an individual and collective environmental performance consistent with the commitments set forth in this Policy. In that regard, we are committed to: - Make continued efforts to identify, prevent and minimize negative environmental impacts arising from our activities, facilities and services, and strive for an efficient use of energy resources and raw materials. - Identify and manage our significant environmental matters in consistency with the basic principle of prevention in every stage of our intervention, from the initial assessment and planning of projects to the management and abandonment of operations. - Take COST-BENEFIT considerations into account in selecting measures and technologies applied to solve environmental problems. - Cooperate with our clients, partners, public entities and the communities to find reasonable solutions to environmental problems. - Use reasonable criteria to evaluate and select our subcontractors and suppliers, requiring them an environmental performance in accordance with our internal standards. - Foster internal and external communication with regard to our environmental matters and our environmental performance in accordance with transparency criteria. - Plan environmental management by strategies and programs that may be assessed, by defining the mechanisms required to accomplish set goals. Also, provide the resources necessary to develop the environmental management plans designed for each project. - Promote the development of a culture of environmental respect in all of our employees, based on the principle of supporting the Sustainable Development of Society, which involves meeting the needs of the present without jeopardizing the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Our environmental commitment is based on basic principles that are the core of our policy. - Full respect for the right of people to a healthy life in a productive and balanced environment. - Conservation and sustainable use of the biological, social and cultural diversity. - Rational use of natural resources to obtain the maximum economic benefit for each unit of the resource used. - Reduction of waste, emissions and discharges, and the control of impact-generating factors. - Emphasis on prevention over remediation, in the understanding that remediation is more costly and less efficient. - Implementation of continued improvement programs and setting of objectives and goals.
