In Pakistan the first oil well was drilled near an oil seep at Kundal in the Potwar basin in , just
years after the Drake well in Pennsylvania. Since then in spite of a low number of wells
drilled, several oilfields have been discovered.

Laboratories has divided the Tobra formation into six lithofacies including sandstone. and
shallow subtidal environments. dolomitization. silicification. Chhidru. Mi a Ke al oil field

bioturbated argillaceous sandstone. Bhaganwalla. This unit can be identified as a potential
