SECOND ANNUAL PRODUCTION SALE ANNOUNCEMENT All members of the Western States Dorper Association (WSDA) are invited to consign sheep to the second annual WSDA Production sale. This year we have moved the sale to Chico State University Farm Livestock Pavilion approximately 25 minutes east of Glenn County Fairgrounds where held last year and just minutes South of Chico, CA. We are excited about partnering with Chico State College of Agriculture involving future pastoralists/agriculturalists working with our Dorper and White Dorper breeds and WSDA annual program. The Board of Directors encourages participation from our youth members of WSDA working with quality animals for growth and experience in production opportunities. Education opportunities are included for all members again this year during our show and sale. Animals are being provided to demonstrate specific conformation and characteristic traits to look for in producing high quality Dorpers and White Dorpers. Ideally if you can have the test results certified about 15-20 days or less prior to sale this will provide plenty of time for the buyer to return without exceeding the 30 day window. 10. Signed registration papers on all registered sheep must be turned into the office as soon as sheep arrive at the Chico State Farm. Sheep must show no signs of disease or foot rot and must be sound. 11. Health Inspections: A veterinarian will be available to check the health of sheep as they arrive and to write health papers for sheep leaving the state after the sale. The judge or veterinarian has the authority to disqualify any animal for health issues or soundness faults in the sifting process. 12. It is suggested that all sheep be slick shorn within 7 days of the sale with the exception of those with a total hair coat. 13. An educational clinic will be given by a certified Dorper judge following the judging of the yearling ram classes on Sunday morning.
