Integrative Health Solutions was established in 2015, with the vision of providing a centre for excellence in
Integrative Medicine, in South Australia. All efforts have been made where possible, to provide an
environment for our patients that is mindful of sensitivities and promotes healing. We aim to provide
patients with an integrative approach to medicine and a proactive approach to wellness.

The Doctors at Integrative Health Solutions are qualified General practitioners, who have additional
qualifications in their areas of interest, such as: nutritional and environmental medicine, injectable
nutrients, musculoskeletal medicine, stem cell therapy, Bio-Balance, Pfeiffer protocol, Bio-Identical
Hormones, Anti-Aging etc. Each Doctor has their own methods of practice, however their aim is always
the same: to incorporate mental, physical, spiritual, emotional, nutritional and environmental health with
the intention of achieving optimal wellbeing for the patient. We welcome new patients to our practice.

Appointments
All consultations at this practice are by appointment only. Appointment lengths may vary, depending on
the Doctor that you see and the type of consultation that you have. Initial appointments will be booked
with your Care Co-ordinator for 15-30 minutes and then for 45 minutes with your doctor. Subsequent
appointments are generally 30 minutes, though this may vary. We offer online bookings for existing
patients to see our GP’s through OzDocs Online and through our website for our Allied Health
Practitioners and Complementary Therapists. We are happy to see you for all your healthcare needs.
We are able to offer Skype, Telephone and E-Consultations for remote patients. This services is only
available for subsequent appointments and at the Doctors discretion. These consultation will not attract a
Medicare rebate. Please be aware that if the patient is not physically present at an appointment,
Medicare rebates do not apply. Due to the nature and length of consultations, our practice cannot
readily ‘fit/squeeze’ patients in. If more than one family member requires an appointment, please notify
reception so that an additional appointment can be made. Our practitioners work as a team and will
draw on each other’s expertise when appropriate, to provide you with the most comprehensive care.
Unless your usual Integrative Doctor is away, the other doctors at this practice may need to undertake a
new patient appointment if they were to consult with you.

New Patient Appointments
We are excited to welcome our existing patients to our new practice. Please understand that while we
appreciate you may have seen one of our practitioners before, we are a new practice and we will
require you to complete a new patient request form (which can be found on our website). The policies,
procedures, fee’s, services and facilities are unique to this practice and we ask that you familiarise
yourself with them prior to doing so. If you are requesting to continue your care with one of our
practitioners and have been seen in the past twelve months, you should not expect to be booked, or
charged, for a new patient appointment time.
Practitioners at this clinic do take ‘new’ patients, to varying degrees. To request an appointment please
complete the online appointment request form and a member of our team will contact you within one
week to discuss your enquiry. We are conscious of minimising the waiting times for our patients. We aim
to achieve this by providing appointment reminders, implementing a cancellation policy and limiting
new patients as required. We do reserve limited appointment times with a duty doctor for our patients if
they require an urgent consultation, or have an acute problem. Please advise our friendly reception
team if your matter is urgent and where possible, we will always do our best to accommodate you.
Our Doctor’s ask that patients complete the online appointment request form themselves, unless they are
a minor / dependent. This ensures that the patient both wants our assistance and is likely to be
responsive to any recommendations that are made. All new patient requests are triaged by urgency,
symptoms and the date the appointment was requested. We thank you for your understanding during
our re-establishment and look forward to assisting you.
Telephone Consultations
For all initial appointments the patient must be present at the practice. Our practice does offer
telephone / Skype consultations for patients who live in remote and rural areas. This is generally only
permitted for subsequent consultations and where your Doctor feels appropriate. The fees for telephone
/ Skype consultations are identical to those undertaken in the Practice, with the exception of the rebates
available. Please be aware that Medicare rebates do not apply for consultations if the patient is not
present at the clinic for the appointment. Following the completion of your appointment, you will be
contacted by Reception for payment of the account over the phone and to confirm your instructions for
any items generated during the consultation, such as patient notes, forms, results and prescriptions.
Cancellation / Confirmation Policy
To minimise the wait time to see our doctors, we have implemented reminders for all appointments. These
will be made via email as a primary choice, or by SMS if you do not have email. In order to respect each
other’s time, we ask that you make every effort to confirm your appointment. For your initial 1 hour
consultation, the practice requires confirmation to hold the appointment. The practice has a
cancellation list for new patients and will endeavour to contact you in the event of a cancellation. If
you do need to cancel an appointment, we ask that you provide 48 hours notice, so that your
appointment can be offered to another patient on our waiting list. Failing to attend, or to provide 24
hours notice may result in a cancellation fee that equates to the full appointment charge. Where 48 -24
hours notice is provided, a cancellation fee of 50% of the total appointment cost may apply. Please
note that no Medicare, or private health rebates apply to cancellation fees.

Patient Recall / Results Policy
It should not be assumed that this practice will notify patients of all of their test results. It is the
responsibility of the patient to request their test results and to book a follow up appointment to discuss
them. If a result requires follow up, you will be contacted to arrange an appointment if we have not
heard from you within a reasonable time. If the result is urgent, it will be dealt with accordingly. It is the
patient’s responsibility to ensure that their contact details are up to date, to facilitate expedient recalls.
Due to the personal and detailed nature of your results, they will not be interpreted over the phone. In
some instances they may be provided through a telephone, skype, or e-consult (via OzDocs Online).
Being that the practice focus is on integrative medicine, even normal results when viewed in context can
provide the practitioner with a great deal of information. It is strongly advised that a follow up
appointment is made when you finish your consultation, or when you have organised the tests. This will
minimise your wait time to review the results. The nature of integrative medicine is such that to discuss the
results, implications, options and prepare a treatment plan, can take a lengthy period of time. We
therefore ask that you do follow these up with your practitioner, in a scheduled appointment time, to
achieve optimal patient outcomes. Copies of results can be provided to the patient at no charge at the
doctor’s discretion.
Repeat Prescription Policy
Repeat prescriptions may be offered without consultation on some occasions, at the discretion of the
doctor. If the request is for a prescription that has been previously issued by this practice, is taken on an
ongoing basis and you have been seen recently, the doctor may re-issue a script. A script fee will apply
for all repeat prescriptions without an appointment. This request can be made online via our website
(through OzDocs Online), or by phone. If the doctor is unable to facilitate your request without an
appointment, you will be notified and any fees will be refunded. Upon request, the script can be mailed
to your home, faxed and mailed to your local pharmacy, or left for collection at the clinic. General and
Compounding scripts can be filled onsite at Infinity Wellness and Compounding Pharmacy and they can
also mail out your medications when they are ready. Speak with them about their loyalty cards.
Referrals
Requests for referrals will require an appointment with your doctor. Some of our doctors may be happy
to provide you with a repeat referral through OzDocs Online without an appointment, however fees do
apply.
Care Co-Ordinator / Nurse
Integrative Health Solutions employs a nurse to assist you with enquiries relating to medications, results,
reactions and simple clinical matters. If you have any clinical queries, please direct them to our care coordinator. They will attempt to resolve your problem through discussion with your doctor, or review of your
notes. Our nurse can also assist you by printing results, reprinting lost forms, or clarifying simple medication
information.

Home Visits
We ask that patients make every effort to attend the surgery for consultations. When this is not possible
due to distance, disability, or chronic illness, our practice may offer home visits, or telephone
consultations. Home visits may be facilitated for regular patients, at the discretion of your Doctor. This will
generally occur outside of their normal consulting hours. This service applies if you reside within a
reasonable distance to the clinic and if your condition prevents you from attending. A consultation fee
and Medicare rebates apply for home visits, however an additional charge for travel time also applies.
Billing Policy
Integrative Health Solutions is not a bulk billing practice. Private fees apply and payment is required on
the day of your appointment. Instant rebates may be available for consultations with your doctor when
you provide your current Medicare details and an EFTPOS card. A significant fee reduction is provided
for concession card holders (for consultations only), when a valid card is presented to reception at the
time of billing. For Allied Health and some Complementary Therapy consultations, instant rebates may
apply through Medicare, or your private health fund. If you are facing a time of extreme financial
hardship, please speak to our reception team who will endeavour to assist you. Requests for
prescriptions, referrals, and telephone consultations incur a fee and this should be paid prior to the
request being processed. Payments can be made over the phone with a Visa / MasterCard, online
through OZDOCS (where the request was made online), or via Electronic Funds Transfer.
Telephoning Doctors during surgery hours
All medically urgent calls will be directed to a doctor immediately, or to a nurse for triage if a doctor is
unavailable. Other non-urgent matters will be responded to at your practitioner’s earliest convenience.
Please be aware that this is generally not possible, until the end of their consulting day. The Doctors
prefers these requests are made through OzDocs Online for confidentiality reasons, however they can be
made over the phone where you are unable to access the internet. Fees for these requests may apply.
Email Policy
Email communication is generally discouraged, as it compromises our privacy policy and cannot be sent
through a secure network. Integrative Health Solutions will however, provide e-consultations for nonurgent clinical matters, through OzDocs Online. Results may also be sent via email through OzDocs
Online, to assist our remote and rural patients. OzDocs Online provides a secure encrypted network that
meets the RACGP standards for electronic communication. We therefore encourage electronic
communication relating to clinical matters, be conducted via their network. Our practice is happy to
answer non-urgent general enquiries via email, but advise that these emails may not be actioned on a
daily basis and are received and sent via an unencrypted network. We ask that you phone the clinic
directly for any urgent requests.
Feedback and Complaints
Integrative Health Solutions welcomes feedback, complaints and suggestions. If for any reason you are
unhappy with your care, or our service, we would appreciate being informed. A suggestion box and
feedback forms can be found in our waiting area, or alternately you can contact the clinic by mail, or
email. If your concern is of a serious nature, please speak to your doctor, or our practice manager.

Integrative Medicine
Some of the diagnostic testing, treatments and products administered and recommended by our
doctors may be considered outside of the parameters of conventional medicine in Australia. These fall
under the category of natural, complimentary and / or integrative medicine. These practices are
supported by research and are evidence based. Your doctor recommends these tests and treatments
with the utmost consideration of the individual patient needs. For the aforementioned reasons some of
the tests and treatments recommended by our doctors, may not be rebatable through Medicare, or
your private health insurance funds. For fee information relating to pathology testing, please contact the
laboratory concerned directly. The integration of conventional and complementary medicine is at the
forefront of our practice and is achieved using ethical, safe and individual treatments.
Dispensary
We are excited to have Infinity Wellness and Compounding Pharmacies onsite to dispense your
medications at a competitive price! They are able to offer dispensary items such as supplements, scripts
and compounding medications, as well as a diverse array of complimentary products. Led by David
Crisci, John Hall and Geoff O’Brien, these experienced pharmacists are available to assist you with any
queries regarding brands, dosages or products. Infinity Wellness and Compounding Pharmacy is happy
to discuss delivery options for patients where products are not readily available. Ask about their loyal
card on your next visit.
Integrative Health Solutions does not dispense supplements, or necessarily recommend brand specific
products. Our practice does provide recommendations for supplements, doses and advice regarding
brands that have previously provided positive patient outcomes and meet high standards of production.
Integrative Health Solutions does stock a small amount of practitioner only injectable nutrients. Any profit
derived from the sale of such stock, is used to cover administration and other costs that allow us to
continue to provide these practitioner only services.
Privacy Policy
Your medical record is a confidential document. Our privacy policy can be provided upon request and
is also available on our website. We abide by the National Privacy Principals available at

Safety net at any time during the year, minimising the gap you pay. To ensure that you are eligible,
please complete a form to register for the safety net, available online from Medicare Australia.
Integrative Health Solutions is not a bulk billing practice. Full payment is required on the day of your
consultation. If you are eligible for a Medicare rebate and bring a debit card with you, the rebate can
be paid directly into your bank account.
Phone, Skype and E-consultations will not attract a Medicare rebate. Phone/Skype consultations can be
paid for over the phone with a VISA/Mastercard, or by EFT. E-consultations and other online services are
charged through OzDocs Online. Any test requests, scripts, referrals, results, or notes generated from
