Eyes Healed During Worship! For many, many months I had great difficulty with almost constant condition of blurry vision. Numerous times, I contacted my optician. At first, he assured me my eye sight was within normal limits and there was no need for concern or a change in my eye glass prescription. But after many months, the optician was then beginning to see the changes which were ever so slight. My condition had worsened and he therefore referred me to a specialist. After consulting with the specialist, he determined I may be in need of some rather invasive surgical procedures that would “hopefully” repair the difficulty but he had little assurance I would experience “full” and “complete” recovery. That day, I was scheduled for a “pre-op” appointment as well as a surgery date. Almost immediately, I began to ponder in my own heart if this was a necessarily wise decision. Thus, I began to pray quite consistently and ask God for wisdom regarding my decision. After several days passed by I consulted with a member of the ORC Prayer Team. With much understanding of my dilemma and empathy for such a decision, I shared with them that I was choosing to tell the doctor I would trust God regarding the matter --- for a “complete” healing in my eyes --without any negative results as the doctor suggested earlier. The good doctor then reassured me that God had commissioned doctors and physicians to perform such medical and surgical work, which I did not deny in any way. But I chose to continue and stand by faith my ground. I knew that physicians and surgeons were really quite reliable but I chose to believe even further that God, who never makes mistakes, could heal me completely and without any error. I knew He was in the business of healing people. I knew He was God. I knew He was Jehovah-Rapha. He stated Himself, “I am the Lord who healeth thee” according to Exodus 15:26. Several days had passed after I shared with the doctor my decision. My pre-op date and my surgery date had been cancelled and they both had passed. Many times I would pray and remind Jehovah-Rapha that I was here waiting on His healing hand. The days still, continued to pass. Then just three weeks ago, on a Saturday evening (March 8, 2014), my wife and I decided to go to the Saturday evening worship service at ORC. As we walked into the sanctuary and took a seat we began to reverently enter into the worship. Without really giving much thought with regards to my eyes nor even my vision, at that point we just rejoiced in the presence of God that we knew was there. Shortly afterwards, I was compelled for some reason to take a seat. As I sat down, I placed my hands over my eyes and continued to pray and worship God. After some time, I removed my hands and looked up. Immediately, I noted that my vision was completely made whole. Praise God! He is Jehovah-Rapha still! He is Jesus --- our Healer! He (Jesus) is the same today as He was when the Israelites wandered the wilderness long ago. In Hebrews 13:8, we learn that, “Jesus is the same, yesterday, today (right now) and forever”. Hallelujiah! We can rest, by faith, knowing that, “. . . by His stripes we WERE healed” (1 Peter 2:24b).
