STUDENT SERVICES CONSULTANT
Compensation: $26,788 annual salary, VSCSF benefits package.
Responsibilities include: Assist students and prospective students with all aspects of the Student
Services Center, including: process frontline student account operations; interview and counsel
prospective and returning students to assess their financial needs and provide them with a wide
range of information, advice, and assistance regarding financial aid options, application
procedures, planning and regulations; respond to questions concerning federal aid; assist and train
students in the use of online student account and registration services; assist with and perform
standard registrar’s office operations.
Qualifications: Associate’s degree in an appropriate discipline, with a bachelor’s degree
desirable, plus one to three years of relevant experience; excellent customer service skills; ability
to maintain a complex computer database; ability to understand and explain the technical
regulations governing student finances and financial aid; ability to maintain a high level of
confidentiality and to deal with students, parents, college personnel, and others in a professional,
courteous manner.
