GUIDELINES
Donate unused portions of hazardous
products such as paint, fertilizer, or
cleaners to a local community group,
church, or neighbor who may have use for
them.
Do not place the unused hazardous
material into your trash container or pour it
down the drain.
Tulare County residents take your
hazardous materials to a FREE household
alternatives
There are many effective and safe alternativ
to hazardous household cleaners, such as
baking soda, lemon juice, vinegar, and
household ammonia. If a non- hazardous
alternative is not available, please follow these
guidelines when disposing of hazardous
materials:

For updates on home-generated sharps
disposal, contact 624-7400.
Purchase a prepaid, mail-back sharps container at your local
pharmacy or online. Place your sharps and syringes into the
sharps container. Seal the container when filled. Follow the
mailing instructions.
Do NOT throw Sharps or
Syringes in the Trash!

National Drug Take Back Days- The Drug Enforcement
Agency conducts Spring and Fall National Drug Take Back
Days. Residents are welcome to drop off their prescriptions
and over-the-counter pills, liquids, and vitamins free.
Please contact your local law enforcement office for dates.
Prepaid, Mail-back Pouches. Purchase a prepaid, Mail-back
Prescription pouch at your local pharmacy. Place your unused prescription drugs, vitamins, etc. in the pouch. Seal
the pouch when filled. Follow the mailing instructions.
Do NOT flush Prescriptions Drugs,
Vitamins, etc. down the Toilet or
throw them in the Trash!
